Do you have an idea for a story but don’t know how to get started? Are you plagued by plot holes or other structural issues that are preventing you from finishing your manuscript?
My Concept Evaluation service can help you take your story from a vague idea to an unputdownable novel. I’ll work with you to develop a sound structure that builds tension and stakes while playing out unforgettable character arcs.
What Does This Service Include?
- Review of Your Concept Submission. I’ll provide in-depth feedback on your story concept, plot structure, and character arcs after reviewing your concept submission (1,500-word description of your story—think of it as a synopsis without any pressure to make it exciting or poetic). In addition to in-line comments, I will also include a one-page summary of the story’s strengths and weaknesses.
Following the written review, you’ll have the opportunity to schedule virtual meetings with me to discuss your project further. These “coaching” sessions can be a one-time thing or done on a consistent basis to help you stay on track with your project goals.
Who Is This Service For?
This service is for writers who are working through the early stages of the book drafting process. Maybe you have an idea but don’t know how to create a story out of it. Or maybe you have drafted your story but aren’t happy with the results and need help identifying the issues. In either case, my Concept Evaluation service is here to help!
How Much Does It Cost?
This service carries a flat rate of $50.
The fee includes inline comments and a one-page review of your concept submission (up to 1,500 words).
If you would like to speak in person following your review, we can schedule a virtual 30-minute meeting to discuss my notes in more depth. Each meeting is an additional $30.
